Tahoe Mountain Chickadee, a nature workbook series, was created by a twenty-four year Lake Tahoe resident who has degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Ecosystems Management. The books were originally created to teach Lake Tahoe Basin animals, biology, and ecology to the author's nine grandchildren. The volumes have now become a local guide for children of all ages.

About the Author

Nancy Menees Hardesty, the author, lives in northern California and splits her time between Lake Tahoe and the San Francisco Bay Area. This book series is the product of her keen interest in the living ecosystem of the Lake Tahoe basin and her desire to educate children about the ecosystem so they will become its future Protectors.
